Digital healthcare accelerator programme extended outside of London

Digital health businesses from across the country are to be given the opportunity to take part in a programme which aims to solve challenges facing the NHS through digital innovations.
Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) from London, East Midlands, Manchester, and South West England are being invited to take part in the accelerator programme, which builds on the success of the London-based DigitalHealth.Londonās initiative.
Previously, the programme has supported the growth of technologies including a smartphone app that claims to slash A&E waitingĀ times, and a digital lifestyle management platform that says it can reverse type 2 diabetes.
Successful applicants will receive one-to-one support from a designated ‘NHS Navigator’ as well as specialist training, support with product development, opportunities to meet experts from business, clinical, and government backgrounds, plus regular opportunities to showcase their products with NHS decision-makers and influencers.
Hannah Harniess, programme director at DigitalHealth.London Accelerator, said: āWhen SMEs with fantastic products canāt access the NHS, it is patients that miss out.
āWeāve seen time and time again that digital technologies can make a major difference and help the NHS save resource ā whether itās slashing waiting times in A&E or helping people to manage long term conditions and live healthier lives.
āBy taking our successful model to four new locations across the country, we know weāll meet even more incredible companies with innovative products that can help the NHS.ā
