Sheffield children’s trust takes Strand for mental health

Sheffield Children’s Hospitals NHS Trust, one of the UK’s largest providers of child and adolescent mental health services has signed an agreement for a new electronic care record system provided by Strand Technology.

The trust has awarded a contract to Strand Technology for its CareNotes electronic record system, which should help modernise the way staff from the trust work with children suffering with mental health problems.

The value of the contract was not disclosed, but the implementation is expected to be rapid with go live beginning within three months.

CareNotes is an Integrated Care Records compliant solution that has been developed with NHS clinicians to meet the needs of complex care within mental and social care.

According to Strand technology the CareNotes system provides an advanced based system, designed to support multidisciplinary care teams who may all be looking after a patient – for example staff drawn from both the NHS and Social Services.

Graham Phillips, Managing Director of Strand Technology, said: “Sheffield has one of the largest CAMHs services in the country and we are delighted to be working with such a significant organisation.

The CareNotes software has been developed by Strand Technology in conjunction with over 100 clinicians and is now in use at a dozen NHS Mental Health Trusts.
