Humber Health Partnership selects Dedalus ORBIS EPR

NHS Humber Health Partnership has selected Dedalus ORBIS as its new electronic patient record (EPR) supplier.

In a LinkedIn post, the partnership, which is made up of Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust and Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust, said: “This is a significant milestone in our EPR journey and it will be transformative for both trusts in improving the experience of our staff and supporting better patient care across Northern and North-East Lincolnshire, Hull and East Yorkshire.”

ORBIS enables patient information, including medical history, diagnoses, medications, treatment plans, allergies, radiology images and laboratory test results to be digitised across the two trusts.

Andy Haywood, group chief strategy, partnerships and digital officer for NHS Humber Health Partnership, told Digital Health News: “One hundred and thirty-eight doctors, nurses, allied health professionals, operational and admin staff were involved in selecting our preferred supplier, and we’re thrilled that they have selected an EPR which leads in the KLAS clinical usability scores.

“This EPR programme will transform the way our group operates, clinically, operationally and digitally and we can’t wait to move to the next stage with ORBIS.”

Implementation will follow a phased and collaborative model  involving clinicians, with the aim of maximising adoption, clinical safety and long-term value.

Dedalus announced in March 2022 that it would cease offering the Lorenzo EPR and switch to ORBIS.

More than a thousand installations of ORBIS have been completed throughout Europe according to Dedalus, including in the NHS, including East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust, which became the first UK trust to adopt the ORBIS U system in 2024.
