System C wins Microsoft accolade

  • 24 June 2010

System C has been named Microsoft’s public sector health partner of the year, picked from over 3,000 entries from across the world.

System C won the award for its Clinical Dashboard product. This was developed as part of an ambitious NHS Connecting for Health project to provide clinicians with the information they need to make informed decisions about a patient’s care.

The Clinical Dashboard project, championed by former health minister Lord Darzi, required interfaces be built to more than fifty different healthcare systems.

Clinical Dashboards were developed in response to Lord Darzi’s call for timely, high-quality information to drive the performance of clinical teams.

System C says Clinical Dashboards are now installed across a number of NHS organisations, including acute trusts, primary care trusts, mental health and ambulance trusts.

Microsoft judges highlighted the fact that System C successfully met all the objectives set at the outset for the project. Notably, it delivered improved quality of clinical outcomes and financial savings.

The Clinical Dashboard was described as “an excellent scalable solution that addresses clinicians’ pain points”.

Dr Ian Denley, chief executive of System C, said: “Our team really enjoyed working on a challenging project with tight timescales and so much clinical support. We are delighted that the programme has been recognised internationally in this way”.

Linda Zecher, corporate vice president, Worldwide Public Sector, Microsoft Corp, said: “System C’s Clinical Dashboard solution has delivered proven benefits both in quality of clinical outcomes and financial savings, satisfying client needs.”

System C’s dashboard products are based on Medway BI, the company’s business intelligence and data warehouse programmes.

The entire Medway product range – which also includes PAS, Electronic Patient Record and numerous departmental systems including A&E and maternity – are based on the latest Microsoft technologies.

Dr Denley will be presented with the award at a presentation in the US next month.
